Help is provided for each field in the advanced search form.

Keywords

Enter one or more words to search all fields of our bibliographic database including title, description and Order Code. Select 'title only' to limit your search to the title field.

Common words are excluded from the search e.g. "as", "and", "at", "the" and "of" etc.

For exact phrase searching use quotation marks " " around your search terms.

Search results returned will contain all of the specified search terms in the title or series fields unless search operators such as 'OR' or 'NOT' are used. Using fewer search terms will return more results.

Order Code

Enter the full Order Code of the product you wish to find to search for a specific publication.

Alternatively, enter the first part of the Order Code followed by an asterisk '*' to search for a list of products with a particular prefix, i.e. QCA/2006* or QCA/2006/12*.

Published from and to

Enter dates to limit your search to products published during a specified period.

Refine your search

Select any number of categories from one or more category group (Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment) to refine your search.

Multiple selections made within the same group will return products fulfilling any of the criteria selected within that group rather than all of the criteria, i.e. selecting both 'A levels' and 'GCSEs' from the 'Qualifications' group will return products pertinent to either 'A levels' or 'GCSEs' or both.

Selecting from multiple groups will return products from any of the selected classifications within all of the groups. i.e. selecting 'GCSEs' from the group 'Qualifications' and 'Assessing pupils progress' and 'Marking' from the group 'Assessment' will return products that are found within 'Qualifications' category 'GCSEs' and within either the 'Assessment' category 'Assessing pupils progress' or 'Marking' or both.
